Greetings, Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Dresden for The Book Store.
This time, I figured I'd go back to a classic work of literature again, thus, I chose To Kill a Mockingbird. Written by Harper Lee, and published in 1960, To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel set in the early 1900s Alabama, a time when racism was still an accepted part of society. It details the life of two small children, Jem and Scout, and their father Atticus Finch, over a series of years. The novel is beautifully written and a very enjoyable read. Loaded with subtle and overt symbolism, the story teaches you a lesson without boring you, and the plot is engrossing from the first page.
However, there is a certain amount of culture clash between the time this novel is set in and the modern world. And at some points the point of view, that of a child, is inadequate to properly convey some information properly.
Review Score: 9/10
Stay reading my friends, and, as always, this is Dresden, signing off.
