Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Dresden for The Book Store.
I hope you all have had a pleasant week, and will go on to have yet another one. Today I'm going to review the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire, A Game of Thrones. These books, specifically this first one, have gotten a lot of hype lately, due to an excellent HBO series being made about it. Now, I'm not going to lie to you fine readers, these books are not for the faint of heart, even in hardback and large sized print, they clock in at over a thousand pages. The story is vastly complex and confusing, hard to follow at times, and many chapters may require a careful re-reading to fully understand their events. That said, these books are absolutely fascinating, and a real joy to read, the intrigue is deep, the violence is beautifully done, and the characters are real people, with their flaws and their virtues.
The plot is absolutely enthralling, and I can't reveal much of it without spoiling a whole heaping helping of interesting events.
Review score for A Game of Thrones: 11/10
As always, stay reading my friends. This is Dresden, signing off.
