The Comic Highlight 2

Greetings, Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Dresden here, writing this edition of the Comic Highlight.

So, this time I have decided to shift my focus from a villain to a, well, perhaps not hero, but certainly neutral at the very least. I speak of Wade Wilson, A.K.A. Deadpool, the "Merc With a Mouth." Nigh-immortal and invincible, skilled with both gun and sword, and perfectly aware that he is, in fact, in a comic book, Deadpool has always been a popular character in the Marvel Universe, his antics entertaining millions.

Wilson's origins are difficult to pin down. Before he was artificially given mutant powers Wilson was a member of U.S. Special Forces, before going on to become a prolific mercenary, however, he was eventually diagnosed with cancer, and he desperately searched for some sort of cure. This led to him being noticed and targeted by Weapon X, the same project that bonded adamantium to Wolverine's skeleton. They gave him an artificial healing factor, derived from Wolverine's naturally occurring one. It was either this process, or the years of torturous experiments that Weapon X put him through that completely broke Wilson's mind. He eventually escaped containment, and went on to become an infamous international assassin, known for always completing a job, and for never shutting up. Ever.

As always, my friends, stay reading, this is Dresden, signing off.
