Star Wars: The Old Republic

"This new addition to the Star Wars gaming Saga has some of the original characteristics of the other games of the series such as the two sides, the Sith and the Jedi knights, the same weapons( blaster pistols, jet packs, lightsabers, etc.). But there are also some differences in that you can choose your side and your story as you play through the W.O.W-esque game. The game is set nearly 3000 years before the rise of Darth Vader (or for you star wars geeks Dark Father) during the time of the cold war between the Jedi and Sith begins. The side and class you choose will define your character's story and role in the galaxy at large. As you may know already, this game is a MMORPG ( Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) allowing you to play with your friends to complete quests, or just to fight random strangers from across the globe. According to Gamestop this "isn't the next step in online gaming, its a next step in entertainment." Seeing as this is a prelude of the movies you won't see the characters that you know and love, unless you've been keeping up with Old Republic chronology. The game is sold directly in stores and only for PC. The initial cost of the game is more expensive compared to W.O.W, seeing as the base discs costs 40 dollars and the subscription fee is $20 per month. Players on a budget would possibly be better to get World of Warcraft. This is, essentially, a watered down version of Star Wars and W.O.W put together, so if you like Star Wars play the game. However, personally, it is just like W.o.W but a lot more expensive, which leads to me giving this game a 3/5
As you play the game you will notice the similar game setting of the original games and movies including the species, locations, and organizations of the well-developed Star Wars galaxy included among the many iconic features of the acclaimed series. Some of the returning species include the Gungans, Jawas, Chiss, and many more. The different classes to choose from are a bit generic for the series, they include the bounty hunter, smuggler, troopers, Jedi knight, Jedi consular, Sith warriors, Sith inquisitors, and a few select others. This is a game for the average gamer to play on the weekend to calm down and relax with a headset in ear, mouse in left/ right hand, and key board in lap with your computer hooked up to the big screen. This is a great game to play for advanced and beginning gamers alike." By Noah C.
